The Catholic University of America

University Vehicle Breakdowns and Accidents

The University owns, rents and leases a wide variety of sedans, vans, trucks, trailers and buses. It is inevitable that there will be instances where they will breakdown or be involved in a collision.  If there is a breakdown, the driver or passenger should contact the University's Public Safety Department.  They will contact the mechanics to make an on-site repair or will call for a tow truck.

University Owned and Leased Vehicles in collisions

If a University owned or leased vehicle is involved in a collision, please call the Public Safety Department for the jurisdiction this happened in.  Your next call should be to the University's Public Safety Department.  They will provide guidance and resources for any medical needs and towing services.

Every vehicle should have the On Scene Actions Pamphlet.  This will help you to collect all the info you will need in case there is a collision.  If you are unable to fill it out, ask a passenger or police officer to fill it out.  This should be given to the University's Public Safety Department or our office.

University Rented Vehicles in collisions

If a University rented vehicle is involved in a collision, please call the Public Safety Department for the jurisdiction this happened in.  Your next call should be to the University's Public Safety Department.  They will provide guidance and resources for any medical needs and towing services.
